Everything a breed register needs

pedgree keeps your club’s records in one place that members can search, breeders can plan with and buyers can check. Here is what it does.

Building the register

A chart you type into

Every empty slot in a pedigree chart is an input. Start typing a name, pick the ancestor if they’re already recorded, or add them on the spot. The register fills in a generation at a time.

Names first, details later

Old pedigrees are mostly names. pedgree treats an ancestor known only by name as a proper record, and you can add dates, colours and results whenever you find them.

Import from a spreadsheet

Bring an existing register in from CSV or Excel. Sires and dams are matched up by name, so the lines connect on arrival.

Checks that catch mistakes

A sire must be male and a dam female, and no animal can appear among its own ancestors. A parent born after its litter is flagged, not refused, because old records are full of guessed dates.

Breeding decisions

Planned matings

Choose two parents and see the coefficient of inbreeding their puppies would have, before anything is bred.

The ancestors behind the number

Alongside the percentage, pedgree names the ancestors the inbreeding runs through. That is the part a breeder can act on.

Health tests your club defines

Set up the tests that matter for your breed, such as hip and elbow scores, eye tests and DNA results, and record results on each animal.

Titles

Record show and working titles, and pedgree shows them beside the name wherever it appears.

Papers

A certificate designer

Lay out your club’s certificate yourself: logo, artwork, fonts, colours and how many generations to show.

QR codes that verify

Each certificate links to a public page with the animal’s identity and ancestry, so a buyer or judge can check the paper against the live register.

Nothing personal on show

The public page shows only what a certificate already prints. Owners, breeders, microchip numbers and notes stay private.

Registration numbers

Numbers are issued in your club’s own format, in sequence, as animals are registered.

Running the club

Your club’s own address

Your members sign in at your club’s address on pedgree, or at your own domain on the larger plans.

Your look throughout

Your logo, colours and fonts on every page, email and certificate. Run a sister club or a breed section under its own identity from the same register.

Roles for everyone

Club admins run the register, owners look after their own animals, and observers can look without changing anything.

Choose what shows

Pick which details appear in your register and on each record, and what a complete record needs.

Live updates

When a record changes, everyone viewing it sees the change without reloading.

Help on first visit

New members get a short guide to each page the first time they open it, then it gets out of the way.

Your data

Export everything

Download your whole register as a spreadsheet whenever you like, on every plan.

Nightly snapshots

Your club’s data is backed up every night, and a snapshot can be restored if something goes wrong.

Download what’s held about you

Any member can download the personal data pedgree holds about them.
